The thinner air does two critical things most spec sheets ignore. First, it reduces the cooling efficiency of your thermal management system by a significant margin. Second, and this is crucial for grid-forming inverters, the lower atmospheric pressure affects internal components and can accelerate off-gassing in a fault scenario. It changes the dielectric strength of air gaps. While UL 9540 and IEC 62933 are fantastic safety baselines, they're primarily validated for standard atmospheric conditions.
